Resin Bound Surfacing is the ultimate way to install a new driveway..

Nothing beats Resin Bound aggregate if you are thinking of installing or refurbishing your driveway. RockPaves unique system of binding natural aggregates in natural chemically activated resin which binds the stones in a porous layer across your drive.

The stone components remain bonded together but leave small gaps to allow water to pass through into the ground. The water cannot get to the stone itself as it is encased in the resin and will pass through unhindered.

The nature of the natural oil based resin substance is that water cannot cause it to deteriorate. This forms a cellular like structure which is tough enough to last for years and is also stain and weed resistant.

The advantages include:

Anti fade

Ultra Violet light in sunlight can fade parts on the surface of driveways and so over the years can start to look patchy. Our UV stable resin option will stop fading from sunlight and your drive will look fresh for years

Puddle Free

If your driveway has dips or parts missing, water remains on the surface in large puddles which cause a slip hazard and can freeze. In a resin surface the water drains under ground and so you're puddle free.

Anti slip

Because the water will drain down into the ground there is much less chance of ice patches on your driveway and therefore much less chance of slipping. We can even add extra anti slip material to any areas of high risk.

Stain Resistant

There’s nothing worse than stains on a driveway. Its due to the unique chemical composition of the material that makes these so much easier to clean off. Follow our cleaning guide and your drive will always look amazing.

No Cracks

RockPaves unique resin drive surfacing Resin is a natural product and as it always remains slightly flexible, it’s much less likely to crack due to heating and cooling as the seasons go by. This makes it very hard wearing.

Weed Resistant

Weeds really struggle to develop in a resin surface. The debris they normally grown in, works its way through the entire surface and drains away into the ground below the level where no sunlight reaches.

What is the difference between Resin Bound and Resin Bonded ?

Although it shares some of the same components there is a big difference between Resin Bonded and Resin Bound surfacing.

A Resin bonded surface is not permeable and will not last as long as a Resin Bound Surface. This technique involves spreading a resin substance over the surface of the driveway and adding a surface layer of stone. The stone simply sticks to the surface but because it is not fully contained within the resin it will work loose over time and as the example to the right shows, it will start to look patchy.

RockPave do not install Bonded surfacing as it is unreliable and our customers expect their driveways to last for years. The water cannot get to the stone itself as it is encased in the resin and will pass through unhindered.
